We are pleased to invite decision-makers, technology leaders, domain experts, and researchers to an exclusive strategy-focused workshop aimed at strengthening Latvia’s AI and digital innovation landscape.

Join an exclusive, high-impact workshop designed to align stakeholders, define strategic objectives, and accelerate the implementation of AI-driven initiatives in Latvia.

Co-hosted by RTU Riga Business School and the Latvian IT Cluster, as part of their joint initiatives – AI Studio and LIFT – within the European Digital Innovation Hub (EDIH), together with LMT and the Higher Education and Science IT Shared Service Centre (VPC), this session brings together decision-makers from across sectors to co-create Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) for Latvia’s AI and digital future.

What to Expect:

  • Focused lightning talks from Aiga Irmeja, Ņikita Kazakevičs, Jānis Grēviņš sharing insights and perspectives

  • A collaborative “event-storming” workshop, led by systems integration expert Dr. Ulrich Norbisrath (University of Tartu), to explore opportunities and barriers in AI adoption

  • Development of SMART-aligned goals (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, and Timely) for AI deployment over the next 12 months

  • Identification of cross-sector initiatives that can demonstrate impact and establish best practices

Methodology: Event Storming

The session will be led by Dr. Ulrich “Ulno” Norbisrath, Associate Professor at the University of Tartu, an expert in systems integration and digital transformation. The workshop will utilize Event Storming, a collaborative and visual methodology to map domain events, actors, challenges, and opportunities.

Why Event Storming?

  • Encourages full participation from all backgrounds
  • Builds a shared understanding of complex systems
  • Surfaces actionable insights quickly and effectively
  • Enables hands-on collaboration across disciplines

No prior experience with Event Storming is required. The facilitator will guide participants through each step.

Expected Outcomes

During the session:

  • A visual model of Latvia’s AI ecosystem, mapping key events, actors, and processes
  • An initial set of draft SMART OKRs
  • Identification of promising cross-sector initiatives

Following the session:

  • A comprehensive documentation package including key insights and outcomes
  • Visual summary of the Event Storming exercise
  • Participant reflections and proposed follow-up actions
  • Summary shared with the Centre for AI (MIC) Supervisory Board
  • Invitation to follow-up sessions hosted by the AI Studio
